About Dr. Michael Latteier

Dr. Latteier has been in practice since 2007. After his Orthopaedic residency, he served active duty in the Air Force as an Orthopaedic Surgeon, deploying to Afghanistan during that time. After his military service he spent an additional year of training in joint replacement surgery, completing a Joint Replacement Fellowship with Joint Implant Surgeons of Columbus, Ohio. During this year, he assisted in performing over a thousand joint replacement surgeries. Fellowship training is the highest level of medical education possible in the United States.  He then took a position with Banner Medical Group in Phoenix Arizona, where he spent 5 years as the joint replacement specialist in the group, before joining Kansas City Bone and Joint Clinic. He is experienced in less invasive techniques including partial knee and anterior hip replacements. He is trained in robotic knee replacement, and also specializes in treating patients who are experiencing problems with previous joint replacements or need revision surgery.

Dr. Latteier is committed to understanding his patients’ concerns and finding the best possible options to restore their mobility, function and quality of life. Dr. Latteier is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery, and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. As a member of these national organizations, he remains active in keeping up with the latest research and cutting edge techniques.

Although he finds his work very rewarding, in his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar, and biking.
